Gymnastics In The Ocean

Hello Readers, 

This term we have been learning to write narrative stories. The purpose of a narrative is to entertain the reader. First we had to make a narrative writing plan. Then we had to make a document to make a story of what our story was going to be about. We had to include similes, personification, onomatopoeia, descriptive words and adjectives. One of my favourite sentences is Angel and Sadiyah set off to find it and caught sight of something in the distance. What is your favourite sentence?

Gymnastics In The Ocean

It was summertime and it was 1:00 in the morning. The temperature was  22 degrees celsius. On March 28th in 1995 there was a gymnast who came from America. Her name was Sadiyah. Sadiyah did gymnastics competitions and she won 10 gold medals. Sadiyah was very flexible and she was also a professional. She was as clever as a mathematician. 

There was also a photographer called Angel who just came back from the moon. While Angel was

on the moon she was looking for aliens and taking photos of different things there. What Angel did

as a photographer is, she took pictures of Sadiyah doing gymnastics. Angel was very bright and

cheerful. Angel is also a professional at taking photos. Sadiyah thought that America was super

amazing and she asked Angel if she could take pictures of her doing gymnastics in a different

setting. Sadiyah also suggested that they could take pictures in the water. 

 Angel and Sadiyah were on the reef next to an enormous secluded island. They could both

smell some rotten, disgusting fish there. They glanced and saw a Megalodon. The Megalodon

swam to Angel and Sadiyah. They named  the Megalodon Doopy.  Doopy was adorable and friendly.

They both felt Doopy. Doopy was very soft and silky. Angel and Sadiyah saw that Doopy was

humongous. Doopy left to go to some of his friends.

Angel and Sadiyah saw a cave and thought that it was super cool and they could go to see what was

inside. Angel and Sadiyah could both see some diving equipment which was a scuba set

to help them breathe underwater. Before they put the scuba set on they could taste the

water in their mouth and they agreed that it tasted very salty and yuck like the stuff they use

at the dentist. Thank goodness for the scuba set. They put the scuba set on and could hear

heaps of bubbles coming out from their mouths. Angel and Sadiyah could also feel the

freshwater rushing against their hands. Angel and Sadiyah started to take photos of each

other wearing the scuba set. They left the scuba set in the water underneath some sand,

at the bottom of the cave.

Angel and Sadiyah took off and left to go to a different place to take photos of Sadiyah’s

gymnastics.

They went back to doing some front handsprings and Angel started to take heaps of photos of

Sadiyah practicing.

Suddenly a girl passed by and asked “Have you seen a scuba set?” Angel and Sadiyah asked her

“Could you please explain what it looks like?” The girl explained, “It is black and shiny.

It is brand new and reflective.” They showed a photo of the scuba set that they just used

and asked “Is this what it looks like?” And the girl replied, “Yes!” Then Angel and Sadiyah

burst out “We know where it is.” The girl exclaimed, “Ok thank you!”

So Angel and Sadiyah headed back to the cave and started peeping for the scuba set.

They could not remember where they put it so they decided to keep their eye out for it.

They kept on searching for the scuba set but still could not find it. 

Angel and Sadiyah set off to find it and caught sight of something in the distance.

It was Doopy. “Doopy, Doopy,  can you help us?” Doopy asked “What can I help you with?”

The girls blabbered “We can’t find the cave and we think that we put the scuba set in your cave.”

Doopy swam in a direction heading to the cave and the girls followed Doopy. The girls suddenly

realised that they were in somebody else's cave the whole time. They found the scuba set and

were so relieved. Angel and Sadiyah headed back to the girl and gave the scuba set to her.

The girl was so gleeful.   

“Thanks Doopy!” You saved the day. Doopy had a colossal smile on his face. So did we.

Narrative Writing

 Hello Readers, 

Today I am going to be showing you my narrative writing that I had to break up into parts. The story that I did was Red Riding Hood.

Title:	Little red riding hood
Main Characters	Grandmother Little red riding hood Little red riding hood's mum Big bad wolf
Orientation/Beginning	Little red riding hood’s mum tells little red riding hood to give her grandmother a basket of apples.
Build-Up/Events	Then little red riding hood gets to her grandmother's house and knocks on her door and she hears a voice say come in, and then she went in and said “Grandmother what big ears you have”, “To hear you better dear.” Then little red riding hood says “What big eyes you have.”  “The better to see you dear.”
Complication/ Problem/Dilemma	Then little red riding hood says “What big teeth you have.” “The better to eat you with, my dear.” roared the wolf and he leapt out of the bed and began to chase little red riding hood. Almost too late, Little Red riding Hood realized that the person in the bed was not her grandmother, but a hungry wolf. She  ran across the room and through the door, shouting, "Help!  Wolf!" as loudly as she could.A woodsman who was chopping logs nearby heard her cry and ran towards the cottage as fast as he could.
Resolution	He grabbed the wolf and made him spit out the poor Grandmother, but still in one piece."Oh Grandma, I was so scared!"  cried Little Red Riding Hood, "I'll never speak to strangers or dawdle in the forest again."
Ending	"There, there, child. Thank goodness you shouted loud enough for this kind woodsman to hear you!" The woodsman knocked out the wolf and carried him deep into the forest where he wouldn't bother people any longer. Little Red Riding Hood and her Grandmother had a nice lunch and a long chat.

Tree house descriptive writing

 Kia ora readers, Today I am going to be showing you my Tree house descriptive writing. What we had to do is look at 2 pictures which was a spaceship and a tree house. We had to pick a picture and I choose the tree house. Then we had to open this document that Whaea Miki has made and shared with us on our room 9 site. We had to do 5 senses of what we could see, hear, feel, taste, and hear. Then we had to do our character. Here is my writing.   Please don't forget to comment on my blog post. 

I was by a tree house and it began to get dark. I could smell rotten flesh of prey, sticky tree sap, and I could also smell the dreadful dead animals. I felt the cold damp floor soaking in my shoes and socks. I felt hard oak, mossy, branches brushing across my hands. Suddenly I heard crunchy twigs, scrambling leaves, the birds chirping, bugs scattering, bushy wavy leaves, creepy creaking noises, rustling leaves, and splashing puddles.The noises were so loud that my ears started to burst. I could taste bitter air, damp moss, and some water dripping on my dry mouldy tongue. I started to feel starvation. My clean brown hair began to get sticky while I was dawdling across the forest. Fortunately I had a medium sized body and was so short  that I could clamber under the branches. My feet clashed across the bunch of leaves. My dark brown eyes could see icy slippery wood planks while I was creeping across the flattened ground with damaged wet plants. The trees started to scatter their fallen leaves down to the smooth ground. As I was walking past I could see the dazzling sun as the trees danced right and left. I anxiously  stepped on a pine cone, and heard the crunchy hard pine cone crack loudly. I felt freezing cold blowing an airy wind. I couldn't believe that this was happening.
